Support to help you manage patients’ expectations during the COVID-19 outbreak

FIPO is working with all sectors to support both doctors and patients during this pandemic by keeping them informed with up-to-date information. Please see below a message from Bupa regarding access to care via their online directory, Bupa Finder.


Bupa has been in touch to explain the changes it’s making to its online directory, Finder (, to help consultants manage patients’ expectations about access to care.

From 9 April 2020 whenever you log in to your account on Bupa’s Providers Online ( you can update your availability by selecting ‘Update my Finder profile’ on the left hand side of the screen. You can use it to show:

  1. Whether you’re still accepting new patients
  2. What options you’re offering for consultations (face-to-face, phone or video)?

Bupa will use this information to update Finder immediately so that users (including Bupa patients, other healthcare professionals and the wider public) can see your availability when they’re searching for consultants. Bupa will also update its systems so that its member services advisers can let patients know too.
